Learning Naturally in Fish Creek!

Due to COVID-19, all of our youth and family programs have been postponed.  We look forward to resuming these programs as soon as possible, when safe to do so.

We offer a wide variety of opportunities for Volunteers to engage with youth and families:

  • Family Nature Nights (FNN) – Free, family-friendly themed outdoor events featuring exhibits and activity stations where all ages can come enjoy a campfire and learn about and explore nature.  If you are interested in volunteering at Family Nature Nights, create a volunteer account in MyImpact and then check off “Family Nature Nights” as a Program Interest.  Those with FNN checked off will receive email notice once volunteer recruitment has begun.

  • Kids’ Bird Camp – This week-long day camp is designed for youth aged 9-14 with a demonstrated interest in birding.  If you are interested in volunteering at Bird Camp, click the green button below to create an account in MyImpact and check off “Kids’ Bird Camp & Family Birding Course” in your list of Program Interests.  Those with Bird Camp checked off will receive email notice once volunteer recruitment has begun.

  • Family Birding Course (FBC) – This parented program takes place on Sunday mornings in June, and is intended for families with budding birders, aged 4-8.  If you are interested in volunteering at the FBC, click the green button below to create an account in MyImpact and then check off “Kids’ Bird Camp & Family Birding Course” in your list of Program Interests.  More information about the FBC will be posted to our events calendar in the near future and those with FBC checked off will receive email notice once volunteer recruitment has begun.

  • Fish Creek Stewardship Adventure – We are looking for volunteers to assist on these outdoor programs where youth groups (age 10-18) take part in a discovery walk to learn about an issue threatening the ecological health of Fish Creek Provincial Park, and do something about it.  Topics may include tree wrapping, invasive species or litter clean up.

  • TD Learning Naturally school programs – We are not recruiting volunteers for this program at this time.
