DESCRIPTION:Fantastic Fossils: Where\, How\, and Why to Find Them \nPresented by Ben Borkovic\, Palaeontologist with the Royal Tyrrell Museum Flood Mitigation Project \nPalaeontology is alive and well in Alberta! Since the floods of June 2013 numerous dinosaur fossils have been discovered and collected as part of a dedicated effort to recover at-risk specimens. These\, and other discoveries\, are advancing our understanding of Cretaceous Alberta’s dinosaur fauna and have resulted in new scientific publications. DESCRIPTION:The Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park\nThursday\, October 25\, 2018 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm\nPresented by Julie MacDougall\, Senior Parks Planner – South Region Alberta Environment and Parks \nEnvironmental Learning Centre\, Shannon Terrace\, Fish Creek Provincial Park – 13931 Woodpath Rd SW \nThe Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park were established in January 2017. Concurrent with the establishment of the Parks a management plan was released for public consultation\, with the final plan being approved in May 2018. This presentation will cover the rational for the establishment of the Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park\, an overview of the conservation\, wildlife and ecological values of the area and the unique opportunities that we have to work with Indigenous Peoples and to establish new recreational opportunities.
