Stewardship Assistants

By Shana Barbour

Taking part in stewardship activities like weed pulls and tree wrap outings helps volunteers understand the issues that face this well-loved urban park.

The Friends are looking for volunteers to assist staff to lead/guide small groups on stewardship outings! To become a Stewardship Assistant, sign up for a stewardship outing and email katie@friendsoffishcreek.org to let Katie know of your interest in possibly taking on a leadership role. Once you are familiar with the tasks, you will be given opportunities to guide small groups of adults in stewardship-related tasks, such as tree wrapping, clean-ups, weed pulls and possibly restoration site monitoring and maintenance.

Stewardship Assistants are needed during our fieldwork season, from May and October.    Click here to view Stewardship Assistant Job Description.

We are actively recruiting for this position!  To receive email notification when training is ready for sign-up, please check off “Stewardship Assistant” as Program Interest in your MyVolunteerPage account. You can create an account if you don’t already have one, by clicking the green button below.
