Pick Up the Park – Fish Creek Provincial Park
Bring your friends, family or co-workers to clean up the park in time for the summer season!
Pick Up the Park Event
Saturday, June 12, 2021
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm; staggered group starts in various areas of the park, 2 hours each.
With your family or a small group, come help clean up the Park to kick off the Summer! While Covid-19 has presented us all with many challenges and changes, this will be a wonderful way to get active, build community, and spend quality time outdoors with a small group of friends, family, or co-workers.
Get your group/partners together! We are encouraging family participation, or 2 meters of physical distancing between group members. To ensure we keep our numbers below those recommended as per Covid-19 public health guidelines, the maximum group size is 10 people in each group, as per current public health restrictions. Group starts will be staggered to ensure they are in different areas and working at different times (you choose your time and area when you register).
Please bring your own hand sanitizer, as washroom facilities may not be available. Feel free to bring and wear your own disposable or reusable mask if you cannot maintain the 2m physical distance from fellow group members or other park users.
**Please note that all groups must pick up their disposable clean-up kits the day before the event, between 9am and 4pm on Friday, June 11 at the Friends of Fish Creek office at the Cookhouse, in the Bow Valley Ranch end of Fish Creek Provincial Park (15975 Bow Bottom Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2P 2M7). Each clean-up kit contains 5 pairs of disposable nitrile gloves and 2 large black garbage bags. If you see another volunteer picking up their kit, please give them 2 m of space and wait until they are finished before collecting your own.
