The Scenic Geology of Alberta: A Roadside Touring and Hiking Guide by Dale Leckie
Order online and pickup at the cookhouse.
Portion of the proceeds from book sales goes to the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park
Book Description:
From the Rocky Mountains to the rain shadow of the prairies, from deeply entrenched rivers having prairie oases, and glaciated terrain, geology has a strong impact on wildlife. The relationship between wildlife and landscape is explored and exemplified in the lives of golden eagles over the Rockies, the American pika and eroding mountains, of burrowing owls on glaciated plains, and greater short-horned lizards in a vast rain shadow. Leckie interweaves science with spectacular photos and beautiful art to take you to the most interesting places in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
