Uncharted: An Inspirational Novel (and Uncovered, A Guide to Wildflowers) – Graeme Connell
Graeme Connell is a former journalist and public relations writer in Calgary. His second novel, “Uncharted,” takes place partially in Fish Creek Provincial Park and Graeme has chosen the Friends to help introduce his book to the public! In this novel, the main character, Brewster, has lost his wife and his reason to live. Then, with help from a young deaf woman and a family facing difficult times, his life finds new meaning through wildflowers and a botanical project in the park. Learn more about the book, meet Graeme in person and learn about wildflowers at the Fish Creek Speaker Series on March 23! A portion of book sales will support the Friends!
Calgary’s Best Walks, 35 Brand New Urban Jaunts and Nature Strolls – Lori Beattie
Calgary is a walking city! Fresh, crisp air, big blue skies, nature tucked into all quadrants, hidden stairways, over 500 km of paved pathways and wonderful independent cafe’s where you can stop and recharge. I think the best way to celebrate Canada’s birthday is to introduce Calgarians to their wonderful city, to help them meet their neighbours, to help them experience the pleasure, the perspective, that comes from taking a walk.
