Capture Nature Photography Contest
The Friends’ Capture Nature Photo Contest was created as a way of inspiring people to engage in the park landscape with creativity in mind! The contest is coordinated by volunteer Jurors who also have a role in choosing the winning photos.
We will be recruiting volunteers to fill Juror positions in 2019, so stay tuned for more information early in the New Year!
If you are interested in taking part in the contest, check our website in early spring for registration and participation details.

Volunteer Management Support
Since 2015, the Friends of Fish Creek have been using an online platform, MyVolunteerPage, to help facilitate the involvement of over 250 volunteers. We are currently seeking volunteers who would like to play a role keeping this online system up-to-date by coming into the office periodically to enter volunteer hours, update volunteer contact information from Volunteer Agreements and more.
Recruitment for this position will begin in early 2019, so check back for more information early in the New Year.
Please contact Katie Bakken, Program Coordinator, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info about this volunteer opportunity.

Native Plants Garden Steward
To commemorate our 25th Anniversary, a new native plant garden was established in 2017 around our new kiosk near the entrance of the Friends’ office in the Bow Valley Ranch. Volunteers are instrumental in ensuring the garden is well-tended; tasks include weeding, watering and possibly replanting as plants establish and grow.
Our volunteer positions for this project are currently filled. We encourage you to consider one of the Friends’ many other volunteer opportunities!
Contact Katie Bakken, Program Coordinator, at email@example.com or call our office at 403-238-3841 for more information.
Other Ways to Steward in Fish Creek Provincial Park!

- Helping with membership and newsletter mail outs
- Poster distribution throughout the community
- Event photography or videography
