FISH CREEK DAY CAMP
Nature‑Based Day Camp for Ages 6–12 in Fish Creek Provincial Park
A summer camp for kids who love plants, wildlife, water, and big questions!
What is Fish Creek Day Camp?
Fish Creek Day Camp is a nature-based day camp hosted by the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society (FOFC) in the west end of Fish Creek Provincial Park. From creek walks to creature investigations, campers discover what makes Fish Creek Provincial Park such a special place, while building confidence, curiosity, and care for the natural world.
Become a steward for Fish Creek and take your first steps toward becoming a budding biologist!
Fish Creek Day Camp follows Alberta Camping Association (ACA) standards and best practices for safety, programming, and staff training.
All camp leaders are fully trained in Standard First Aid and CPR. We require 10 campers at a minimum each week to operate day camp.
For questions about Fish Creek Day Camp, contact Friends Education and Outreach Coordinator Sarah Wutzke at sarah@friendsoffishcreek.org.
Mission
Fish Creek Camp’s mission is to inspire young people to care for and protect Fish Creek Provincial Park through outdoor exploration, environmental education, and meaningful stewardship experiences. We aim to cultivate curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong connection to nature while fostering a sense of responsibility for our shared natural spaces.
Where is it?
Through the generous support of Alberta Parks, Fish Creek Camp is hosted at the Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre in the Shannon Terrace Day Use area in Fish Creek Provincial Park.
13931 Woodpath Rd SW, Calgary, AB T2W 4Z8
At Fish Creek Camp, every day is a new adventure rooted in nature, discovery, and fun. Expect muddy boots, magnifying glasses, and plenty of “wow” moments!
Some activities are quiet and observant; others are full of games, laughter, and discovery.
Campers explore the park’s diverse ecosystems and build friendships through games, storytelling, and caring for nature.
Our experienced educators guide campers through themes that blend environmental education with outdoor play. Campers are encouraged to ask questions, make discoveries, and help shape their daily experience in a safe, supportive environment.
What Campers Can Expect:
Whether your child is a budding biologist, a curious explorer, or simply loves being outside, Fish Creek Camp offers a summer filled with wonder, learning, and connection to the natural world.

Safety planning, emergency procedures, and age‑appropriate risk management are built into all programming. Staff receive training in emergency response and follow established protocols to ensure camper well‑being throughout the day.
