Community Action Team Volunteer Recruitment

Home /  Community Action Team Volunteer Recruitment

There are many ways to support the Friends, including helping us to make important connections in the community that result not only in crucial financial support for our organization, but also provides local groups with opportunities to contribute to our work and give back to the community in meaningful ways.

Our Community Action Team (CAT) is a small but mighty group of volunteer Champions who reach out to the community on our behalf, raising awareness about what we do and the opportunities that exist to support our work.  CAT volunteers work together to steward existing relationships in the community, or build new ones with prospective supporters. Building these relationships helps us to learn what the needs and interests of prospects are and how we might fulfill these through our programming and/or public recognition of their support. As we work together, we are also able to customize Group Stewardship Experiences for corporate and community groups to take part in, if they would like to combine their financial support with lending a hand to our work on the ground.

We are hoping to build on the important work the CAT has been doing over the past two years, and are recruiting to fill two volunteer openings at this fun and dynamic table!  Ideally, we would love to find two people who love connecting directly with others, who know a lot about the Friends and are able to be strong ambassadors for us in the community.  Fund raising/development experience is not a requirement, but definitely an asset.

If you are interested in being considered for one of these volunteer positions, please fill out the form below by Monday, March 15, after which we’ll be in touch to request a short, phone or Zoom interview to further discuss the position.  We highly recommend that you review  the Community Action Team Volunteer Job Description before you fill out the form, for all pertinent details about the role and commitment to it.

You can also contact Shana Barbour, Social Enterprise & Stewardship Manager at shana@friendsoffishcreek.org if you need more information.

Thank you for your interest, we look forward to hearing from you!
