Family Nature Walk – City Nature Challenge 2020

Sunday, April, 26, 2020 from 10:00 – 12:00pm: Family Nature Walk starting at the Bow Valley Ranch

Join us as we support the City Nature Challenge 2020 for a walk on the wild side to identify the diverse plants and animals that live right here in our back yard.  A photo of each treasure we find will be uploaded to iNaturalist.ca.  More information will be provided during the morning.  Dress for the weather and feel free to bring binoculars, camera and smartphone or portable device (if possible, with iNaturalist app already downloaded).  It will be exciting to see how Calgary’s urban biodiversity stacks up to cities around the world, such as Halifax,  Berlin, Cape Town, and 275 others around the world.  Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn more about our native plants and critters while making a direct contribution to scientific research.  Check out the City Nature Challenge website http://citynatureyyc.ca for more info.
