Owls are unique and fascinating birds, and a variety of owl species call Alberta home, including Alberta’s provincial bird, the great horned owl. At this presentation, you will learn about contributions made by biologists and recreational owlers (banders and surveyors) for the well-being of these birds in this province. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the distribution, status and ecology of local owl species. Dr. Gordon Court will also discuss conservation issues surrounding these birds and will be accompanied by live barred owl and wildlife ambassador Colonel Slade.

Presented Dr. Gordon Court, Provincial Wildlife Status Biologist for the Fish and Wildlife Division
