
Katrina Terrill
Executive Director
Katrina is a dedicated non-profit manager with over eight years of experience in senior management roles. She has received a BSc. in Conservation Biology from the University of Alberta, along with a Master’s degree in Geography from the University of Toronto that focused on species at risk conservation in Canada. Katrina has been actively working in conservation since 2009, including several years as an Alberta Parks interpreter and as an endangered species biologist. A lifelong explorer of the outdoors, Katrina has spent many years hiking, canoeing, backpacking, birding, and spending time in nature. She is thrilled to be joining the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society, and engaging the community in the incredible natural environment of this very special park.

Emma Stroud
Ecology Manager
Emma is a University of Calgary alumni who has focused her work in terrestrial and aquatic ecology. Through six years of volunteer work, field experience, and working with industry, she has refined her interests in conservation and restoration, narrowing her focus onto the non-profit sector. Exploring tide pools, creeks, wetlands, and rivers have always been favorite pastimes, making the reality of working with volunteers in Fish Creek an exciting opportunity.

Kumiko Kamiike
Visitor Services Coordinator
Kumiko completed her Masters of Forest Ecology in Shimane, Japan in 2003. After graduation, she led tours as a Field Interpreter and worked in the area of Wild Bear Management in Japan. Throughout her career, she has come to believe that accurate knowledge and good experiences are the keys to conserving nature. In recent years Kumiko volunteered with the Friends of Fish Creek and worked as a Program Assistant. She is keen to connect people to nature, and is very pleased and excited to once again be part of this team.

Ross Anderson
Watershed Field Coordinator
Ross recently graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and has worked at the Deer Run Community Centre in the maintenance and event planning departments. He is experienced in data collection and analysis, and outdoor fieldwork – including invasive species surveys, mapping, wildlife identification, and water quality testing. As the Field Assistant Ross enjoys working outside while using his skills, and learning about the park and the Friends conservation programs.

John (TJ) Timonera
Restoration Stewardship Coordinator
In 2023, John (TJ) Timonera received the Friends’ Steward in Action award in recognition for his dedication to conservation and stewardship in Fish Creek. He recently graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and completed his capstone project in the Glennfield and Votier’s Flats areas of the park. In his role he assists with stewardship and conservation programs like Restoration, Invasive Species Management, Beaver Coexistence, ReWilding, Public Outreach and many others.

Oliver Noseworthy
Environmental Program Support Coordinator
Oliver recently graduated from St. Mary’s University majoring in Biology. He started working with The Friends in the summer of 2024. He completed his undergraduate thesis on within-individual phenotypic gradients of Brassica rapa, looking at a new way to analyze phenotypic selection. In his role he coordinates corporate groups and works on event coordination with volunteers and staff.

Claire Prokopenko
Communications Coordinator
Claire is a frequent Fish Creek visitor and longtime fan of the Park. She has years of experience working in nonprofit communications and is excited to tell the Friends’ story and work in support of the amazing place that is Fish Creek. When she’s not working, you can find her spending time with her dog, gardening, or working on a sewing or art project.

Sarah Wutzke
Education and Outreach Coordinator
Sarah’s passion for the environment began in childhood and has guided her personal and professional life ever since. She believes that fostering a direct connection with the outdoors is the best way to inspire conservation. Sarah is excited to share her love of the natural world and help others discover the importance of our local green spaces. Sarah holds a BSc in Wildfire and Fisheries from the University of Northern British Columbia and a Technical diploma in Renewable Resource Management from Lethbridge College.
