Dedication Bench Program
Dedicate a Bench in Fish Creek and Leave a Lasting Legacy!
These beautiful and sturdy dedication benches provide the perfect opportunity for you to show your support for Fish Creek Provincial Park while providing a comfortable place for park for visitors to rest and appreciate nature.
Dedication benches are 6 feet wide, solidly constructed with black steel frames and stained dark red meranti boards on concrete footings. A bronze plaque, with text of your choosing, will be secured to the bench for a ten-year period. After that time you will have the option to renew for another ten years. There are more than 100 scenic locations throughout Fish Creek for these beautiful benches and only 10 – 12 benches are up for renewal each year.
The first step to dedicating your bench in Fish Creek is to make a deposit of $500 and complete the Dedication Bench Form below. Once we receive the form and your deposit, we will arrange for you to view available benches, and choose your preferred location among those available. If you do not find a suitable location for your bench, we will refund your $500 deposit in full or hold onto it as a deposit until you find a suitable location. Once you have found a bench location that works for you, we require a final $4,750 payment and a contract to be signed before the plaque is ordered and the bench installed.
Please note, after you have made the deposit and expressed an interest in a specific bench location, that bench will be held for you for a minimum of 3 weeks until the remainder of the payment is made. If the remainder of the payment is not made within 3 weeks of choosing a bench location, then that location may become available to others. This is due to the high demand for benches and in fairness to others who are waiting for a bench. Once the full payment is received, and the bench is installed we will issue a tax receipt to you for the full donation amount of $5,250.
Due to the high demand of this program, we are not accepting new donors at this time. The Friends is working with Alberta Parks to determine the feasibility of new locations in anticipation of the Central Corridor Pathway expansion. These infrastructure updates will take place from 2025 through 2028 and provide additional opportunities for families and friends to commemorate their loved ones.
