Forest Bathing – Hull’s Wood, Fish Creek Provincial Park
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the July 22 Forest Bathing class has been cancelled.
Instructed by Karen Salamandick, Leaning Mind Coaching
Mindfully reconnect with nature through the practice of Shinrin yoku (forest bathing). Learn how becoming aware of your surroundings and the interconnectedness of all aspects leads to an increased level of care and concern for the natural environment. Shinrin yoku (Japanese phrase meaning forest bathing or immersing oneself in the forest atmosphere) is a slow, mostly silent, mindful practice in nature. Participants will be invited to engage their senses as we slowly walk a 1-2 km loop along pathways and dirt trails at Hull’s Wood, Fish Creek Provincial Park. This experience is open to those aged 16 and older and is not suitable for pets. Appropriate footwear and clothing for the terrain and weather is essential. Please do not bring cell phones (or turn off/set to do not disturb).
Space is limited to 6 people, registration is required (drop in’s will not be permitted).
$10 per person, Register through Eventbrite.
Karen is a Mindfulness-based Life Coach, EFT Practitioner and Forest Bathing Guide with Leaning Mind Coaching. Being born and raised in the Calgary area, nature has always been an important aspect of her life. She discovered the practice of Forest Bathing through another Friends of Fish Creek program and instantly resonated with it. With Forest Bathing she rediscovered a practice she’d innately done her whole life to find perspective, peace and grounding. She’s looking forward to sharing this beneficial practice with others through this program.
