Discover more about a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is in our very own back yard: Dinosaur Provincial Park. 75 million years ago, prehistoric rivers flowed east, depositing sand and mud, which much later would become the foundation for Dinosaur Provincial Park. Dinosaur is 73 km2 in size and is located about 2.5 hours east of Calgary. This park is now known for its riparian habitat, badlands ecosystem and of course, its large concentration of dinosaur fossils from the late Cretaceous. Stop by to learn about what makes this site so special, as well to be able to touch and feel real dinosaur fossils! Join Amber deKam, Dinosaur Provincial Park Visitor Services Outreach Coordinator, to learn more about this fascinating park and start planning your next prehistoric exploration today!
